In application OsmAnd there's possibility to show Wikipedia articles around specified location. The problem is that your bot created many duplicate articles (which I'm trying to fix on Wikidata), but for city Katowice you created 3 different articles! I'm not the first, who reported that problem: https://ceb.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hisgot_sa_Gumagamit:Lsj#Duplicate_German_city_articles Please merge these articles and make correct link to Wikidata https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q588 another to fix: https://ceb.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorz%C3%B3w https://ceb.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bytom https://ceb.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siemianowice https://ceb.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gliwice

Since you have found the previous discussion, you presumably also read my response there. Wikipedia (and Wikidata) should maintain a distinction between human settlements and administrative units. You are proposing to merge them, which in my opinion is wrong. Possibly there are also cases in Poland where two different administrative levels coincide, as with Kreisfreie Stadt Kiel, and Kiel (munisipyo) in Germany. In the German system the administrative entity Kiel functions both as a district (kreis) and as a municipality. If it works like that also in Poland, you are correct that "munisipyo" and "powiat" should be merged in those cases. But the human settlement ("lungsod" or "kapital sa something") should be kept separate. Lsj (talk) 08:53, 25 Marso 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Katowice is en:City_with_powiat_rights and municipality (gmina). It is also capital of Silesian Voivodeship, but it is not a separate object, but "property" on Wikidata. If you want to write article about human settlement, in Silesia there is no clear distinction between cities: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=18/50.29889/18.99678 they all forms conurbation.
As I said, I have no objection to merging when two different administrative levels coincide, as seems to be the case with Katowice (powiat) and Katowice (munisipyo). Feel free to go ahead with that merger and similar cases -- but do a proper merger then, not just vandalizing coordinates! But I strongly object to merging administrative units with settlements. Those are two distinct kinds of entities, one defined by lines on a map, the other defined by actual houses on the ground, and they should be kept distinct. It is hard to work with articles in language, which I do not speak. There is no distinction between Katowice city, powiat, gmina and "actual houses" on Polish Wikipedia. If you look at the map, there is even no clear distinction between cities - one house is in Siemianowice Śląskie and another house few meters away is in Chorzów. Is my edit related to Katowice acceptable, can I continue?
