Deutsch: Der Stadt Baesweiler ist am 19. November 1973 das Recht zur Führung eines Stadtwappens, einer Stadtflagge und eines Dienstsiegels verliehen worden.

English: The arms were granted on 19 November 1973. The arms are based on the seal of the Amt Baesweiler from 1556. The upper part shows the lion of Jülich, as the Amt was part of the Duchy of Jülich. The origin of the arrows is probably based on the traditional gun or shooting clubs (Schützenwesen) in the area of the town.
