DeskripsyonJohnson Square.jpg
English: Johnson Square was named for Robert Johnson, a Governor of South Carolina who befriended the colonists when Georgia was first settled. The Declaration of Independence was read aloud here to an enthusiastic audience on August 10, 1776. The central monument is erected to the US Revolutionary War hero Nathanael Greene. Greene's remains, along with the remains of his son, are interred under the monument.
